Have you ever planned to travel around the world? How much money does it cost you to do so? $10,000 or more, maybe? Last weekend, I and my friends just spent one-quarter of day and $12 to travel around the world. The ROM (The Royal Ontario Museum), which is one of the best museum in the world. The ROM has first established since March 19, 1914 with fewer objects to look at; however, the museum became fascinated to everybody around the world after the reestablishment and new renovation of the museum on June 3, 2007. Annually, the ROM welcomes approximately about one million visitor from all over the world. Why would many people like to visit the museum? The ROM, which is as big as 80,000 square feet, is the world of everybody. Hundreds of millions of objects from all over the world are available in the museum, divided into different sections where they should be. By visiting the museum, visitors will see clearly the diversity of different cultures and civilizations of many tribes of human beings as well as animal. Historical and political from the ancient until recent year is also found in the museum.
This was the first time that I saw mummy and many wonderful objects from all over the world. It did not feel tire after many hours explored; however, I found my trip fascinated and I tremendously loved it. I strongly recommend everyone take a chance to visit the ROM, which is not just a museum, but it is a world of everything you would never imagine to experience in your whole life.

Some people have mentioned, after going to the ROM, that they have some doubts about how the museum acquired some of its artifacts from the past, from different countries. You saw the mummies, for example. How do you think they got them from Egypt? Are they on loan from that country, or do you think that at some time in the past Canadian (or British) archeologists simply went to Egypt and took them. In the past, there was nothing the Egyptian government could do to prevent this; nowadays I'm sure they have much stricter rules. They would want to keep these things in their own country, no?
And there are items there from China, Japan, Korea, etc. It should probably say, somewhere -- a card you can read, or a plaque on the wall -- how the museum acquired these objects. Do you remember seeing anything about that?
Hi,Melvin! I also went to the Royal Ontario Museum with my friends. I think that is a great place because it contains more than six million items, which from many different coutries such as China, Egype, India etc. After saw these items, we could know some histories and cultures of other contries. I think visiting the Royal Ontario Museum is an unforgettable and pleasant experience to me.
